The Core of Power — CEO Office Area

This is the "brain" of the entire space. In this area, every piece of furniture must convey absolute authority and stability. It usually consists of a large executive desk, side cabinets, back cabinets, a CEO chair, and reception chairs. The core of the CEO office lies in the "presence". This depends not only on the area but also on the scale of the desk and chairs, the weightiness of the material, and the sense of order in storage.

1.1Executive Desk: The Balance Between Solid Wood Veneer and Ergonomics

According to M&W's high-end executive desk data, a top-level CEO desk usually has the following features:

Material logic: We use 35-60mm thick high-density MDF as the base material with a high-quality wood veneer. All MDF meet the E1 environmental standard (formaldehyde emission ≤ 0.124 mg/m³), complying with European and U.S. CARB regulations. Why more than 35mm? Data shows that a desktop thicker than 30mm can effectively reduce resonance and visually appear more substantial and solid, This physical sense of heaviness conveys a 'unshakable' corporate foundation through visual means.

Color matching: The document displays the clash between "solid wood grain color" and "W35 gray lacquered finish."

◦ *Recommended combination:* Keep the main desktop in a dark wood grain (such as walnut) to symbolize depth; use W35 gray lacquer on side cabinets or supporting structures to add a modern technological feel. This "dark-and-light combination" is the mainstream aesthetic in the current high-end European, American, and Middle Eastern markets.

Functional details:

Electric lifting columns: To meet the European and American markets' high requirements for healthy office environments, we offer high adjustable desk  with large-sized silent electric lifting columns, supporting alternating sitting and standing work. The standard height of the executive desk is 750mm, paired with an ergonomic chair, ensuring 600mm of space under the knees.

Cable management system: The desktop is equipped with multifunctional integrated outlets (XH606-2 module), including HDMI, network, USB, and power, with cable holes hidden inside the support beams to ensure a "clutter-free" desktop.

1.2The Philosophy of Seating: Executive Chair & Visitor Chair (The Throne & The Audience)

If a desk is a container, the chair is the soul inside it. In an executive space, the arrangement of chairs is never casual; it is a rigorous system of etiquette.

Executive Chair (The Executive Chair): This is the throne of power. It must have high-density molded foam (60# Density), not ordinary foam. 60# foam provides strong resilient support, and with a lumbar pillow designed in zones, it supports the physical load from long hours of decision-making.

◦ *Detail-oriented:* Top configurations usually include a line-controlled base from Germany's Bock or Italy's Dora, supporting multi-stage tilt locking. This means the executive can lean back while thinking and instantly lock the angle while signing documents. This “sense of control” cannot be provided by ordinary lift chairs.

◦ *Material:* The contact surface is usually selected as full-aniline leather or semi-aniline leather, providing a delicate and warm touch, symbolizing gentleness toward the outside world and firmness inwardly.

Visitor Chair (The Visitor Chair): This is the reviewer of power. Visitor chairs usually appear in pairs, located opposite the executive desk.

◦ *Psychological suggestion:* Visitor chairs are typically slightly lower than the executive chair (about 40-50mm) with a slightly shorter seat depth. This is not impolite but uses ergonomics to maintain a subtle “psychological height difference,” indicating the distinction between host and guest.

◦ *Style:* Visitor chairs often have firmer lines, such as metal frames or solid wood armrests, symbolizing respect for the guest while maintaining the sense of order in the space.

1.3Narrative of the Background: Back Cabinet & Side Cabinet (The Background)

The back cabinet behind the executive (Back Cabinet) is the “fourth wall” of the space.

Full-height design: To eliminate a sense of oppression, back cabinets usually adopt a full-height design (height can reach 2130mm-2400mm). The top and side panels continue the solid wood grain, creating material resonance with the desk.

Light and shadow magic: A top-tier back cabinet must have built-in LED sensor light strips. When the executive sits behind the desk, the display compartments behind are lit, not only showcasing the company's honors but visually "lifting" the person, forming a sacred silhouette effect.

Functional zoning: The middle is usually left empty for placing a safe or main computer, the lower part is a storage area with doors, and the upper part is an open display area. This "combination of solid and void" composition is a golden rule of visual aesthetics.

Transformation of the Aura – The Lounge

If the office area represents "rigidity," then the lounge embodies "softness." Here, there is no need for the sound of keyboards, only the aroma of coffee and the collision of ideas. It is a space where the CEO can lower their guard and engage in deep communication.

2.1 The Aura of the Sofa : Enclosure and Embrace

In a CEO’s space, the choice of sofa often determines the "temperature" of the room.

Material Temperature: We typically recommend a combination of solid wood frame and high-density foam. The solid wood frame ensures structural durability for centuries, while 60# high-density foam provides a "soft yet resilient" seating experience.

The Wisdom of Half-Leather Technique: To balance budget and texture in high-end spaces, M&W advocates the "genuine leather contact surface" technique. That is, the seat, backrest, and armrests are made of genuine leather, while the back and bottom are eco-friendly PU. This technique ensures a luxurious tactile experience for guests while effectively controlling maintenance costs and aligning with modern environmental concepts.

Layout Logic: Sofas in CEO spaces usually adopt L-shaped or face-to-face arrangements, paired with a stone-top coffee table or solid wood lacquered coffee table in the center. The stone top represents the stern logic of business, while the solid wood lacquered table conveys warm humanistic care. Their combination reflects the dual personality of a business leader.

2.2. Coffee Table: The Clash of Materials

The coffee table is the 'counterbalance' of the executive leisure space, an indispensable and important element.

Material Combinations:

◦ Sintered stone/marble + stainless steel: Reflects a cold and rational business logic.

◦ MDF with lacquer + metal: Reflects a sense of modern art.

◦ When matching the overall space scheme, the color of the coffee table needs to correspond with the 'secondary color' of the desk. For example, if the desk uses black matte paint, the coffee table should match with black sintered stone. This also effectively enhances the overall texture of the space.

The Moment of Decision — The Boardroom

For the executive space, internal meeting areas are often a 'mini boardroom.' Here, elaborate decorations are unnecessary; what is needed are efficient connectivity and absolute silence. Solutions for matching extra-large meeting spaces can also be found here.

3.1 The Scale of the Conference Table: Intimacy and Efficiency

The executive meeting table (typically 2400mm-3600mm long) serves the core decision-making group of 6-8 people. We can also match the meeting area for the top management of large companies as a boardroom area (typically 4800mm-7200mm long), serving top management meetings of 20 or more people.

Tabletop craftsmanship: 60mm thick edge-banded veneer tabletop, with chamfered or rounded edges (Rounded Lower Edge), providing both safety and a sense of quality, mainly focusing on comfort, allowing people to stay focused and efficient during meetings.

Core feature — integrated cable box:

◦ This is the detail overseas buyers pay the most attention to. Our tables come standard with the XH606-1/2 multifunctional cable box, supporting HDMI screen projection, wireless charging reservation, and ample power outlets. When demonstrating, emphasizing a 'clutter-free tabletop' is key to enhancing the space's sense of sophistication.

3.2. Conference chairs: Comfort for long sitting

MW offers a wide range of chairs suitable for meetings, mainly featuring 60# high-density molded sponge, combined with lumbar and back zoning design, ensuring the comfort of the meeting area does not compromise the rigor and efficiency of the meeting. Conference chairs are usually chosen from the same series as office chairs, either with a mid-back or high-back mesh/leather design. The difference is that conference chairs place more emphasis on the width of the armrests to support the arms during long meetings and reduce fatigue.

 Three Styles of Spatial Narratives

A true design master knows how to choose different spatial narrative languages based on the genetic makeup of different companies. Combining M&W's product library, we have constructed three mainstream executive space style logics for you.

4.1 Traditional Style: Authority and Rigor

• Applicable industries: Banks, law firms, traditional manufacturing.

• Color logic: This is a space dominated by deep, heavy tones. The main color is usually selected from the W30-W34 series of dark walnut or cherry wood.

• Material interaction: The executive desk uses dark solid wood veneer, while the cabinet doors use solid wood lacquer in matching colors.

• Spatial atmosphere: Coordinated with the stability of dark wood and the gloss of metal, sofas are typically dark brown leather, and coffee tables are black marble, giving the entire space a relatively heavy and steady feel.

4.2 Modern Style: Minimalist Futuristic Feeling

• Applicable industries: Internet giants, technology companies, start-up unicorns.

• Color logic: This is a "de-decorated" space. The main color is usually W35 gray lacquer or pure white wood veneer. White represents infinite possibilities, gray represents rational restraint.

• Material interaction: Light-colored wood veneer is used for the tabletop, while table legs and side cabinets boldly adopt MFC boards or solid color lacquer panels.

• Spatial atmosphere: Clean and sharp. The cabinets usually reach the ceiling, but the doors use hidden handles or magnetic touch doors, visually free of any handle interference. Lighting typically uses ultra-narrow framed recessed strips, creating a "zero-gravity" floating sense.

4.3 Humanistic Style: Natural Breathability (The Humanistic Creative)

• Applicable industries: Advertising, media, design firms, cultural and creative industries.

• Color logic: This is a "breathable" space. Colors are no longer limited to black, white, and gray, but introduce MFC board accent colors (such as haze blue, bean green) as highlights.

• Material interaction: There is extensive use of fabric and natural wood. Sofas are no longer rigid leather, but fabric or wool. Coffee tables may incorporate rattan elements or natural stone.

• Spatial atmosphere: Desks may no longer be traditional rectangles, but irregular shapes or single boards with natural textures. Cabinets are no longer closed, but open bookshelves filled with books and artworks. The entire space is more like a high-end private library or gallery.

Conclusion: Space is Power

The design of the CEO's space is essentially a philosophical reflection on the 'relationship between humans and their environment.'

Through the warm wrapping of solid wood veneer around a rational metal framework, through the absolute height of the executive chair controlling the modesty of the visitor chairs, through the invisible order of the wiring system managing the complexity of technological equipment—this is exactly what modern business leaders need: to find the perfect balance between sensibility and rationality.
